Let me be perfectly honest here, I don't eat sushi. I read the instructions and was totally confused so for that reason I am giving this four stars. I could not figure out what the end caps were for. The instructions say something about the word TOP on the one piece only I did not find the word. I took a guess at how it was suppose to go. The good thing is that I bought this as a gift to my son-in-law who loves sushi and he was able to figure it out and he says he loves it. Now he can make his own anytime he wants too. One thing he did say was that he wished it had of come with some kind of a cook book so he would have some better ideas on making the sushi. The whole thing is made out of a strong durable plastic. It is dishwasher safe, I would say top rack only because it is plastic. One thing I did notice while trying to figure out how to use this is that the frame piece would not clip down. It was kind of warped ( for lack of a better word). My son-in-law said that after several tries and finally using a rolling pin to pack the rice he was finally able to get some pretty good looking sushi.

I think this would be a great way to have fun in the kitchen with the kids. Even if you never make perfect sushi, their is no cooking involved (other then the rice) so the kids can have fun putting the rice in and filling their own sushi. So for that I am going to recommend this product.
