Please forgive me

Will you all please forgive me as I have once again had to move and now on top of it my computer is DOWN. I went to put a new wi-fi PCI card in it last night and discovered that my fan is bad. I have a new one ordered but until then I will not turn on the puter because I don't want to lose the processor also. I promise to get back up and running as fast as I can. In the mean time the other staff at Nut House Scraps is taking reallygood care of the store. We have lots of new things in the store for your scrapping pleasure.

Happy Memorial Day

I would like to say Happy Memorial Day to everyone. If you have ever had a family member serve in the Armed Forces I know that you will be joining us as we remember those who have lost their lives so that we me be FREE.

Traditional observance of Memorial day has diminished over the years. Many Americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of Memorial Day. At many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored, neglected. Most people no longer remember the proper flag etiquette for the day. While there are towns and cities that still hold Memorial Day parades, many have not held a parade in decades. Some people think the day is for honoring any and all dead, and not just those fallen in service to our country.

To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the "National Moment of Remembrance" resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to 'Taps."

The Moment of Remembrance is a step in the right direction to returning the meaning back to the day. What is needed is a full return to the original day of observance. Set aside one day out of the year for the nation to get together to remember, reflect and honor those who have given their all in service to their country.

Scrap-a-layout Challenge:
Scrap a Layout Challenge in the forum

Let's see some beautiful layouts again this month in the gallery. Every time we run one of these challenges we get some really beautiful layouts.

1. Take a solid or lightly printed background and about 1/3 down one side make 4 small boxes.
2. In 2 of the boxes put solid color and in 2 of the boxes put photos.
3. Now put some decorations under all 4 boxes and one on top of each of the boxes with the solid colors.
4. Now 1/3 down from the top on the other side of the paper put 2 paper strips.
5. On top of the paper strips put 3 photos.
6. Using an Alpha set put a title below the 3 photos.
7. Now put a ribbon down the side under the photos.
8. Finish it off with some more decorations placed under and around the 3 photos.

Place your layout in the gallery and then come back here and place a link to your layout.

1 Month Later

It has been a month now since we have moved. We still have lots of boxes to unpack but we need dressers for the kids so we can have the bins their clothes are in. The two youngest girls seem to think we live in a pig sty and it is a fight to get them to keep their room picked up. I don't expect them to keep them looking like a show case. I really don't mind the lived in look but I do mind your clothes all over the floor and not being able to walk in the door. The boys do a pretty good job of keeping their room clean, only have to tell them to pick up a few items now and then. Every night before they go to bed they all have chores. Joy gets the dishes and cleaning the stove and counters. The boys have to put away the clean dishes, sweep and mop the floor and take out the trash from the whole house. The two girls have to pick up the living room and pick up the bathroom. This way when we go to bed the house looks pretty good every night.

I finely got a new office chair today. I only got my puter back up a few days ago and every since I have we have been sitting on the coffee table so we could use the puter.

It seems that my midnight took the worst of the move. From what we can figure out she was with child when we moved and the stress of the move caused her to have a miscarriage. This really took it tole on her and we almost lost her. I had to get her some omoxiciallin and she is now well on the road to recovery. The only thing is my once heathen cat is now trying to be a lap kitty. It seems she must be part chicken. For her to go out now mommy has to hold her hand. She will not go out without me and then won't move more than 2 feet from me. The only time she leaves my side in the house is when she is chasing Angela's cat "Kitty". When she does this we have to pull her off Kitty and spank her. We are very careful when we spank her because of all she has been though.

Because of my move we have delayed the stores second birthday party. The party will be held the week of May 15, 2011. We started our little store over two years ago as a way to keep our family together. We hope that we have been living up to our goal of bring you top quality scrapbooking and commercial use products. Moved

I have not been posting and my wonderful staff has been running the store the past few weeks because I have moved from New Jersey to Florida. It has been a very stressful move but we are here and the house is starting to come together. We finally have beds for 5 out of 6 of the grandkids. We still need one for the baby and Angela still needs a bed frame for herself seeing her bed is on the floor. We are eating in the living room because we have no table yet but we have all the grapefruit and oranges we can eat for FREE. We have a grapefruit tree in our yard and there is a orange tree next door where no one lives. All we got to do is send the kid up the tree to get them. LOL I would share some with you all but I don't think virtural fruit taste very good. LOL My babies are having a hard time dealing with all the noise that 6 kids make. They are used to it being so nice and quiet all the time in our home. Midnight seems to enjoy telling Kitty (Angela's cat) that she not allowed in the bedroom to eat. So Kitty sneaks in when Midnight is sleeping to grab a bit to eat. LOL But they now have one heck of a playground so they don't mind sharing it.






I still need to get my desk top put set back up. right now I am using MY laptop which I am being kind enough to share with Angela so she can do her homework.
